The challenge
Conservation International embarked on an ambitious project to address the impacts of climate change in the Pacific Islands, specifically in Samoa and Tokelau. With the backing of New Zealand's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT), the organisation required a comprehensive Design Document and monitoring and evaluation framework to guide the project's successful implementation.
What we did
- Kirsty Burnett and Dr Greg Sherley facilitated a thorough design process to translate the project concept into an actionable design document — a process that was new for Conservation International.
- Developed a framework for engaging discussions and negotiations with local partners, focusing on establishing priorities, identifying key stakeholders, and setting clear success indicators, ensuring alignment with MFAT's requirements for funding approval.
